THE BOOM BRUSH WORKS GREAT WITH A 5pt. STROKE ON A CIRCLE
In homage to Jack Kirby-
I just created this brush set to do some cool energy effects for my new Marvel book..
I've applied it to some art from my Iron Man Hypervelocity miniseries.
There are a bunch of brushes in the source file with various settings. I hope you get some use out of these.
I have an online tutorial blog where I teach how to draw comics using Adobe Illustrator. I draw all my work in Illustrator 10. The blog is Illcraft.com at [link]
Because I don't use brushes all that often, what formats can you use these brushes with? I mean, what programs might be able to open and use them? (I only use PSP 8, but some brushes can be used on photoshop and that both.)
These are really super, they totally are kirbyesque!
I often wonder what Kirby himself might've done with modern computer tools. He was already experimenting with collage back in the '60s -- I bet he would've been all over Photoshop!
God bless you for being so good at illustrator my friend. and Merry Christmas to you and your kiddies!!!

I try to imagine what he may have done and try to incorporate that in my work. But I'm a pale shadow to his genius.
